Company Secures $15M for the Future of Sustainability and Digital Fashion

By Lakesha H.

In Web3 news, the largest and most notable digital wearable platform, DressX, secured 15 million USD in Series A funding. The round was led by Berlin-based crypto venture capital firm Greenfield and included participation from Slow Ventures, the Artemis Fund, Red Doe, and Warner Music Group.

What is DressX?

Founded by Ukrainian tennis players Daria Shopovalova and Natalie Modernova, DressX was created to “give a meta-closet to every individual in the world.” Since its launch in 2020, the fashion-forward blockchain collective has integrated fashion, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology, accumulating over 250,000 users on its app.

While DressX continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the fashion world, it’s exciting to think about the future possibilities — especially its environmental impact.

Sustainability Impact

Currently, the fashion industry is witnessing a rapid evolution of trends, with prices being offered at increasingly lower costs. According to the UN Conference on Trade and Development, the fashion industry is considered one of the world’s biggest polluters — and will only continue to increase as the industry grows.

Through its cutting-edge technology, DressX offers users the opportunity to wear virtual clothing that has a real-world impact. By reducing the need for physical garments, DressX is helping to mitigate the industry’s carbon footprint. In 2021 alone, the company prevented 93,706 kg of CO2 emissions. This reduction is a significant step toward DressX’s ultimate goal of creating a sustainable fashion industry that works for everyone.

DressX’s sustainability efforts go beyond emissions reductions, however. By integrating fashion, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology, DressX is transforming the industry into one that values creativity and individual expression. By providing users with a “meta-closet” that offers a range of virtual clothing options, DressX is breaking down the barriers between high fashion and everyday wear.

Foreseeing its longevity

As DressX continues to evolve and expand, its longevity is an important theme to consider. How will the company continue to innovate and stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly changing world of fashion and technology? Will virtual clothing become a mainstay in the fashion industry, or is this a passing trend?

One thing is certain: DressX’s commitment to sustainability and inclusivity is a key factor in its long-term success. By prioritizing these values, the company is tapping into a growing demand for ethical and environmentally conscious fashion. As more consumers become aware of the impact their clothing choices have on the planet, companies like DressX will be well-positioned to meet this demand.

Furthermore, DressX’s focus on digital fashion offers a level of flexibility and adaptability that traditional fashion simply can’t match. As trends and tastes change, DressX can quickly pivot and offer new options to its users. And as the technology behind DressX continues to improve, the possibilities for virtual fashion are virtually endless.

In conclusion, the longevity of DressX will depend on its ability to stay true to its core values while also innovating and adapting to a rapidly changing industry. As fashion and technology continue to evolve, DressX’s commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and creativity will be key to its success. The question remains: what new possibilities will DressX unlock in the years to come?
